A case has been filed over the snatching of Sujanagar Upazila Awami League president and former Upazila chairman Abdul Wahab from police custody in Sujanagar upazila of Pabna.
Joint forces conduced drive overnight at various places in Sujanagar upazila on Sunday and detained them, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) Golam Mostafa of Sujanagar Police Station on Monday.
He said they detained 16 people during the operation and those identified in video footage will be formally shown as arrested.

The drive is underway and the remaining accused will be arrested soon, OC Mostafa said.
On Saturday afternoon, when Abdul Wahab was detained in front of Mathurapur High School in Sujanagar municipality his supporters attacked police and snatched him from their custody.
Pabna Superintendent of Police Mortoza Ali Khan said eight police personnel were injured in the attack.

Sub-Inspector Azahar Ali of Sujanagar police station filed a case in connection with the attack.
Abdul Wahab is also a fugitive accused in multiple cases related to July-August movement, during which he allegedly led attacks on demonstrators.
Meanwhile, BNP and Jamaat leaders and activists staged separate protest marches and rallies in Sujanagar upazila headquarters on Sunday night, demanding the arrest of those responsible for the police assault.
