“It is a budget for life and livelihood. The business-friendly budget will be helpful to retrieve the trend of economic development,” CCCI President Mahbubul Alam came up with the observation on Thursday.
CCCI president observed that the proposed budget is time befitting to maintain continuity of development and give impetus to the economy. “But it’s important to ensure honesty, transparency and efficiency in budget implementation,” he added.
It was mentioned in the proposed budget that a double-track high-speed rail line will be constructed Dhaka to Chattogram via Cumilla and Laksam. The budget also proposed construction of new container terminals, overflow yards, bay terminals and bulk terminals to increase the cargo handling capacity of the seaports.
The CCCI demanded speedy implementation of the projects.
