Chandpur, Sept 6 (UNB) – A 14-year old girl saved herself from early marriage dialing helpline 333 (used for redressal of social problem) at Daulatpur village in Matlab Dakkhin upazila on Thursday.
Tonny Akter Rehana, a 9th grader and daughter of Kamal Hossain Pradhan, sought help of the local administration to foil the marriage scheduled to be held Thursday noon.
Receiving the phone call, UNO Shahidul Islam sent upazila women affairs officer Amena Begum to the spot and foiled the marriage.
