On the shifting sandbars of the Padma River, where uncertainty is a way of life, a group of underprivileged children from the remote char areas are preparing to deliver a powerful message of hope – not through words, but through football.
On July 3, boys and girls from the isolated communities will take to the field in a friendly football match to be organised by the Shopnogram Football Club at Durgapur of Dhalarchar in Bera upazila of Pabna with support from the BK Foundation.
The match will serve as a powerful display of inclusion and gender equality, featuring both boys and girls playing together to defy traditional societal norms in a deeply rural setting, turning an isolated sandbar along the Padma River into a field of dreams.
Amidst the frequent struggles and isolation associated with life on the chars, this initiative shines as a ray of hope that underscores the raw, undying spirit and potential of the underprivileged youth in the area.
The match will be a testament to teamwork and the universal language of play, said BK Foundation Chairman MA Baten Khan.
