In Sylhet, 60 new cases were reported.
Himangshu Lal Roy, deputy director of Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital, said they found 60 positive cases after testing 188 samples.
Among the newly-infected people, 38 are from Sadar upazila, 14 from Jaintaipur, two each in Companiganj and Jakiganj, and one each in Balaganj and Kanaighat upazilas, he added.
Besides, two general patients from Chhat and Habiganj Sadar upazilas tested positive at Shaheed Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital in the distrct.
The total number of coronavirus cases in Sylhet division is now 1,329. Of them, 741 are from Sylhet, 250 from Sunamganj, 194 from Habiganj and 144 from Moulvibazar.
So far, 26 people died from virus in Sylhet division, among them 20 from Sylhet district, four from Moulvibazar, one each from Habinganj and Sunamganj.
Among the total infection, 333 people made full recovery in Sylhet division.
In Kishoreganj, 47 new coronavirus cases were reported on Thursday night, taking the total number to 503 in the district.
Civil Surgeon Dr Md Mujibur Rahman confirmed the information around midnight.
So far, 216 patients made full recovery while 12 died from Covid-19, he added.
In Barishal, 64 people tested positive for coronavirus, taking the number of confirmed cases to 532 in the district.
Subrata Biswas, assistant commissioner, confirmed the information from District Administration’s Media Cell.
Among the new infections, 11 are from Barishal Metropolitan Police. The rest include a doctor, three nurses and a staff of Sher-E-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
Subrata Biswas also informed that the new patients are aged between 12 and 62 years.
The number of coronavirus cases in the country has started rising alarmingly after the public transports resumed and restrictions of people’s movement were relaxed.
Bangladesh has so far reported 57,563 coronavirus cases and 781 deaths.
