Health authorities detected 2,459 new patients after conducting only 10,625 RT-PCR tests which are 298 less than Saturday.
Bangladesh in the 19th week of infection registered 2,04,525 cases after the first three were detected on March 8.
The daily infection rate has slightly reduced to 23.14 percent while overall 19.89 percent of people fell victim to Covid-19 disease against the 10,28,299 tests conducted.
The mortality rate in Bangladesh is now 1.28 percent.
Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Additional Director General Prof Dr Nasima Sultana came up with the disclosure at its daily health bulletin.
Another 1,546 people have recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries to 1,11,642.
“Currently the recovery rate in the country is 54.6 percent,” Dr Nasima added.
Among the 37 new deceased, 29 were male and eight were female.
Dr Nasima noted that so far, 79.03 percent male and 20.97 percent female have died from the disease.

“Age-based analysis of the newly deceased says, one was between 21 and 30 years, one between 31 and 40, three between 41 and 50, six between 51 and 60, 20 between 61 and 70, four between 71 and 80, one between 81 and 90 and another aged between 91 and 100 years,” she added.
Fifteen patients died in Dhaka division, seven died in Khulna division, three in Rajshahi division, two in Sylhet division, eight in Chattogram division, one in Rangpur division and one more died in Mymensingh division in the span of 24 hours.
DGHS data reveal that the overall death percentage in Dhaka division has seen a slight reduction. “49 percent died in Dhaka division, 25.44 percent in Chattogram, 5.31 percent in Rajshahi, 6.23 percent in Khulna, 3.74 percent in Barishal, 3.39 percent in Rangpur and 2.22 percent died in Mymensingh division,” Dr Nasima said.
