Police on Monday night buried a man at Malsapara of Sirajganj Municipality after he died of coronavirus in Dhaka.
Hafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said the 50-year-old man from Gozaria died while being treated in quarantine.
Police buried the man around 10pm on an appeal from his family members, the OC said, adding that only the man’s wife accompanied the body.
She returned to Dhaka after burial.
Bangladesh has so far confirmed 2,948 coronavirus cases and 101 deaths.
Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Nasima Sultana on Monday described the situation as “a great crisis”.
