Confirming the information, Cox’s Bazar Medical College Principal Dr Anupam Barua, said after testing 477 samples in two laboratories, they found 126 persons infected.
Among them, 93 Bangladeshis and six Rohingyas are from Cox’s Bazar district alone, he added.
Among the district’s new infections, 47 are from Sadar upazila, 12 from Ramu, 10 from Chakaria, four from Moheshkhali, one from Kutubdia and six Rohingyas.

According to the district administration, five upazilas of the district have been announced as ‘Red Zone’.
So far, 274 people made full recovery in the district while 22 people died from Covid-19.
Meanwhile, a Rohingya man died in the district among 37 confirmed infections of the displaced community living in different camps in the district.
Health authorities have so far confirmed 68,504 coronavirus case and 930 deaths from Covid-19 disease.
