A writ has been filed with High Court seeking its directive to the authorities concerned to provide health safety equipment including thermal scanners, thermometers in front of court rooms and hand washing equipment at the court premises across the country to prevent spread of coronavirus.
The writ also sought directives to formulate hygiene rules for the court management.
Supreme Court lawyers Barrister Mohammad Humayun Kabir Pallab and Barrister Mohammad Kawsar filed the writ petition on Wednesday on behalf of ‘Law and Life Foundation’.
Barrister Mohammad Humayun Kabir said virtual hearing on writ petitions is likely to be held at the bench of High Court Judge JBM Hasan.
Law secretary, Principle secretary of Prime Minister office, Supreme Court Registrar General, Director General of Directorate of Health Service, secretary of Bangladesh Bar Council and secretary of Bangladesh Supreme Court Ainjibi Samity (bar association) were made respondents.
