The deceased was identified as Bazal Mia, 65, a security guard of Soraipara area of Pahartoli.
Dr Hasan Shahriar Kabir, a divisional health director, said Bazal died in the isolation ward at 9:30am, prompting the law enforcers to put 40 houses of Soraipara area under lockdown.

BITID Director Prof Dr Abul Hasan Chowdhury said the deceased was admitted to the institute on April 14 and his test report confirmed his corona infection on Thursday.
Al Manahil, a voluntary organisation, arranged proper burial of the deceased.
Meanwhile, 10 more people died from coronavirus in Bangladesh in last 24 hours till Thursday, taking the death toll in the country to 60.
Besides, a record 341 people tested positive for the virus coronavirus during the period, taking the number of such cases in the country to 1,572.
