A large number of people were seen waiting at the hospital premises in queues on Tuesday for availing of treatment.
Meanwhile, a photojournalist of UNB said he was obstructed while taking photos of patients' sufferings.
Brig Gen AKM Nasir Uddin, director of DMCH, told UNB that the hospital authorities restricted taking photos or videos inside the hospital without any prior permission.
"But we did not give any instruction to obstruct anyone taking photos or video outside the hospital," he said.
The sheer number of coronavirus cases has put a severe strain on the country's healthcare system. The health authorities have so far confirmed 1,545 coronavirus deaths and 119,198 cases.

Bangladesh reported its first coronavirus cases on March 8 and the first death on March 18.
