This was decided by the Board of Trustees (BoT) of CPD at its 55th meeting in Dhaka on Saturday, said a media release on Sunday.
CPD Board appreciated CPD’s research and outreach-related activities during January-June 2020.
Some of the research during this period include— Challenges of Policymaking in Times of Pandemics: State of the Bangladesh Economy in FY2020, CPD’s Recommendations for the National Budget FY2020-2; Health and Economic Risks of Corona Pandemic and Recommendations, Assessment of Public Policy Interventions and Proposals for Food and Income Security of the Marginalised; Contextualizing SDG Targets for the Senior Citizens in Bangladesh: Introducing a ‘Universal Pension Scheme’; Challenges for the Marginalised Youth in Accessing Jobs: How Effective is Public Service Delivery? Improved Coordination of International Climate Finance in Bangladesh; Harnessing Trade for Sustainable Development with Focus on Graduating LDCs in Asia and the Pacific.
The Board approved the CPD’s plan for research, dialogue, publication and outreach-related activities for July-December 2020.
CPD Board approved CPD’s Yearly Financial Statement for FY 2019-2020 and Budget for FY 2020-2021 at the meeting.
Presided over by Professor Rehman Sobhan, Chairman, CPD, the Board meeting was attended by Trustee Members Khushi Kabir, Coordinator, Nijera Kori; M Syeduzzaman, former Finance Minister; Syed Manzur Elahi, Chairman, APEX Group, Advocate Sultana Kamal, former Advisor to the Caretaker Government and Chairperson of TIB; Rasheda K Choudhury, Executive Director, CAMPE; Professor Syed Manzoorul Islam, former Professor of English Departement, Dhaka University, Dr Shahdeen Malik, eminent jurist; Dr Debapriya Bhattacharya and Professor Mustafizur Rahman, Distinguished Fellows, CPD; Dr Fahmida Khatun, Executive Director, CPD and Member-Secretary, CPD Board of Trustees.
Dr Khondoker Golam Moazzem, Research Director, M Shafiqul Islam, Director, Administration & Finance of CPD were also present at the meeting on invitation.
