A day labourer died after being hit by a drum truck in the city's Uttara area early Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Enamul Haque,40, son of Ashraf Uddin. He hailed from Gonakar Kathi village in Asashuni upazila of Satkhira district.
Enamul, father of two children, was a resident of Uttara Sector- 13.
When Enamul was working on the opposite side of Uttara Sector 7 a clay-laden drum truck hit him when it was moving backwards to load soil, said Mainul Islam around 1:30 am on Saturday, a co-worker of the victim.
He was first taken to a local hospital with serious injuries from where he was taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 3:30 am where an on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Inspector Md Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH Police camp, said the body was kept in the hospital morgue.
