Executive Director, Commonwealth Businesswomen’s Network, Arif Zaman, on Monday paid a courtesy call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam.
The meeting was aimed at deliberating strategies for attracting foreign investors during the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) scheduled to take place in November 2026 in Antigua and Barbuda.
The discussions focused on pitching Bangladesh, to the investors, as an attractive investment destination with a policy continuity and stability, Bangladesh’s aspiration to become a manufacturing hub for the world, strengthening agriculture and rural businesses of Bangladesh, sustainable opportunities in Bangladesh’s blue economy sector, renewable energy and circular economy.
They also discussed on the scope of Commonwealth Women’s Forum, which will take place alongside the upcoming CHOGM, to empower women entrepreneurs to realise their full potential.
