“We’re sure that we’ll be effectively engaged in any future ‘Indo-Pacific Alliance’ if it is found to be purely economic in nature,” he said adding that Bangladesh has already joined China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
The Foreign Minister was addressing at the plenary session - Asia Pacific in a changing global Order - of the 33rd CACCI Conference in the city on Tuesday.
He urged the leadership of Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) to meticulously study all the opportunities for enhancing our export and network and come back to the government with concrete proposals rather than sporadically reacting after different crisis.
Dr Momen said there is a major shift taking place in the world economy and Asia Pacific is both the place and the reason.
“However, to gain from this development, we have to prepare ourselves with skills, quality education, infrastructure, good governance and above all, goodwill,” he said.
Dr Momen hoped that the FBCCI will always be an important element in their quest for development vis-à-vis Asia Pacific, not only in the coming decade, but in the coming century as well.
