Bangladesh and Russia have discussed prospects for cooperation in the area of energy, including renewable energy, amid the current global economic environment.
Russian Ambassador to Bangladesh Alexander Mantytskiy recently met with Adviser to the Prime Minister Energy Adviser Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury.
They showed interest in continuing joint work on the projects aimed at developing the national nuclear power sector and enhancing the potential of Bangladesh's gas industry, the Russian Embassy in Dhaka said Thursday.
The "high level of cooperation" between Bangladesh and Russia's State Atomic Energy Corporation (Rosatom) as well as Gazprom EP International BV was also highlighted at the meeting.
