More than 26 diplomatic missions and international organisations are set to participate in the 2nd Embassy Indoor Games 2026, a celebration of sports diplomacy, friendship and international cooperation.
Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman will inaugurate the event as the chief guest at 10am on Friday at International School Dhaka (ISD) in Bashundhara Residential Area, Dhaka.
It will be hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The two-day sporting event will bring together representatives from diplomatic missions, international organisations, government institutions and other distinguished organisations in Bangladesh for friendly competition, networking and engagement.
Following the successful inaugural edition, the second season of the Embassy Indoor Games aims to strengthen the spirit of sports diplomacy, friendship, teamwork and international cooperation, providing members of the diplomatic and international community with an informal platform to connect beyond their official responsibilities.
Eastern Bank PLC is the title sponsor of the 2nd Embassy Indoor Games 2026. Purbani Group (Comfystyle), Modhumoti, City Bank, bKash and Universal Medical College and Hospital are the co-sponsors.
Around 120 participants representing 26 diplomatic missions and organisations will take part in the multi-sport event, featuring competitions in table tennis singles, table tennis doubles, badminton doubles and badminton mixed doubles.
The event will provide diplomats and members of the international community with an opportunity to compete, connect and strengthen friendship through sport.
The participating organisations include the Embassy of Algeria, High Commission of Australia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, British High Commission, Embassy of Denmark, Embassy of Egypt, European Union, German Embassy, High Commission of India, Embassy of Indonesia, Embassy of Iran, Embassy of Nepal, Embassy of the Netherlands, Embassy of Norway, Embassy of Sweden and the US Embassy.
The event will also bring together representatives of major international organisations, including the United Nations, World Health Organization, World Bank, Asian Development Bank, UNDP, WFP, IOM and IFC, alongside International School Dhaka and a2i.
