The complete district-wise lists of beneficiaries under the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) programme will be finalised by June 30 next.
The decision was taken at a recent meeting chaired by Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin at his ministry’s conference room, said a PID handout on Sunday.
This initiative was taken aiming to ensure the fair selection of one crore low-income families across the country who will receive TCB products using new smart family cards.

The meeting also decided to expedite the distribution and activation of smart family cards and take legal action against those who have obtained the beneficiary cards without being eligible.
As of March 17 last, some 57 lakh smart family cards were distributed, out of which 41,51,012 have been activated, while nearly 16 lakh cards were canceled for remaining inactive.
In the latest phase, around 8,10,276 new smart family cards have been prepared and sent to district administrations for distribution among beneficiaries. So, till May 5 last, the total number of distributed smart family cards stood at 49,61,288.
