Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has introduced portable signal lights to enhance traffic management in the Capital.
According to DMP, the signal lights are cost-effective and developed entirely using local technology. These portable devices are easy to carry and can be used on any road, said DMP'S Deputy commissioner Media Talebur Rahman on Tuesday evening.
Initially, highway police have been deploying these portable signal lights to maintain discipline on roads and reduce traffic congestion.
The initiative, taken as part of innovative efforts in traffic management, will play a positive role in ensuring smoother vehicular movement, Talebur Rahman added.
