A mobile court drive of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) on Tuesday demolished some 100 illegal shops from an abandoned market of the city corporation under ward No 34, located in Rayerbazar.
The mobile court led by Zonal Officer of Zone No-5 and Executive Magistrate Mutakabbir Ahmed evicted the illegal shops from the market, said a DNCC press release signed by its Public Relations Officer Mokbul Hossain.

The release also said that mobile courts of the corporation had removed several illegal structures developed in front of the abandoned market and inside it in 2006 and 2019.
Despite repeated drives, such illegal establishments mostly shops were set up, it read.
After one such previous raid, the court sold some materials of the market including rod through auction for Tk 48,000, the release added.
