The programme was held on the ground floor of BNP’s Nayapaltan central office attended by party leaders and activists.
Speaking at the programme, Fakhrul urged all to pary for the speedy recovery of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and its leader Khoka.
He said all BNP leaders are passing through a bad time due to "repression by the government. We all are subjected to false cases and repression. Cases were also filed against Khoka Bhai and his family members.”
The BNP leader said Khoka is now seriously ill. “I talked to him on October 29 and he could not communicate properly. He urged me to say all to pray for him.”
Dhaka south city unit President Habibunnabi Khan Sohel said their party leaders and activists are upset over the news of falling health condition of Khoka.
He called upon all to pary to Allah so that he may return among the party leaders and activists soon at this "critical time" of the country and its people.
The health condition of Khoka, who has long been receiving treatment in the USA for cancer, has turned critical a few days back.
He has been undergoing treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
Khoka, also a former minister, was arrested days before the January-5 national election in 2014.
Released on bail from jail, he was admitted to Birdem Hospital in the capital, but doctors could not exactly detect his health problem.
Later, he went to the USA on May 14, 2014 and has been receiving treatment there since then.
