The Department of Environment (DoE) conducted separate drives in seven districts on Thursday and imposed fines of Tk 17.18 lakh.
The districts include Mymensingh, Narayanganj, Kamrangirchar in Dhaka, Satkhira, Nilphamari, Madaripur and Gazipur.
The DoE conducted the drives in Mymensingh, Narayanganj and Kamrangirchar area in Dhaka on Thursday and imposed a fine of Tk 17,500 and filed 9 cases.

Three factories were sealed, electric meters were confiscated, utility connections were cut off, and 100 tons of polythene was seized during the drives.
Around 2,005 kg of polythene was also confiscated nationwide.
Besides, four mobile courts in Satkhira, Nilphamari, Madaripur, and Gazipur imposed fines of Tk 17 lakhs and filed eight cases.
The mobile courts also shut down four illegal brick kilns.
In Mymensingh, a mobile court aimed at noise pollution fined one vehicle driver Tk 500 and issued warnings to others.
The Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, along with the Department of Environment, will continue such drives to combat environmental pollution.
