MP-elect Dorothy Rahman took oath on Wednesday at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
The lawmaker was elected from a reserved seat for women in parliament.
Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury administered the oath taking ceremony at the Jatiya Sangsad, said a press release of the parliament secretariat.
Dorothy Rahman has been elected MP unopposed in the reserved women’s seat-19 declared vacant by the Jatiya Sangsad following the demise of AL lawmaker Sheikh Anne Rahman.
Sheikh Anne Rahman died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Bangkok, Thailand on October 11.

After that, Jatiya Sangsad declared the seat vacant.
KM Abdus Salam, secretary, parliament secretariat conducted the oath-taking ceremony.
Chief Whip of parliament Noor-e-Alam Chowdhury and Whip Iqbalur Rahim were present at the oath taking ceremony.
After taking the oath, Dorothy Rahman signed the oath book as per custom.
Senior officials of the Parliament Secretariat were present at the programme.
