Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has conducted mobile courts in the road and adjoining areas in front of Ahsan Manzil and in Dhanmondi 9/A area to remove illegal shops and kitchen markets.
DSCC Estate Officer Md Moniruzzaman conducted the drive on Tuesday.

During the drive, 25 illegal temporary shops were demolished on the road in front of Ahsan Manzil and a kitchen market built by occupying roads and footpaths in Dhanmondi area has also been taken down.
Meanwhile, fines totaling Tk 15,500 were collected in four cases in the Ahsan Manzil area, while Tk 13,000 in fines were collected in two cases in the Dhanmondi 9/A area.

Md Moniruzzaman, the DSCC estate officer said: "25-26 temporary shops and illegal structures were being built at the main gate of Ahsan Manzil entrance obstructing the movement of visitors.”
All those illegal structures have been removed through today's (Tuesday) mobile court.

"Besides, we’ve demolished a kitchen market in the Dhanmondi area that was illegally built by encroaching roads and footpaths and by obstructing traffic and people's movement,” Moniruzzaman said.
