“People have lost their voting rights due to the failure of the Election Commission. The ‘crippled’ and handicapped Commission is showing failure in every step,” he said.

Bablu said, “Battlefields are created during every election. The Election Commission is committing unforgivable crimes. The ruling party cadres have destroyed the election atmosphere as did the BNP cadres in the past.”
He made the remarks at a public rally here after paying homage to Jatiya Party founder HM Ershad by placing wreaths at his grave together with the members of the newly formed convening committee of Jatiya Jubo Sanghati.
They also offered fateha at Ershad’s grave and prayed for eternal peace of his departed soul.

The Jatiya Party leader said good governance in Bangladesh is now at the museum while democracy is in the coffin. “People now can’t sleep in peace.”
He said people are going through immense sufferings as the government is failing to control the market. “The prices of the daily essentials are increasing uncontrollably.”
Bablu said around 42 percent of people are living below the poverty line while 1.5 crore have become unemployed due to the coronavirus pandemic. “So, the lives of people have become miserable.”
He said people want to get back to the ‘golden age’ of ‘Pallibandhu’ HM Ershad. ”They (people) are looking at the Jatiya Party with huge hopes and aspirations.”

Stating that their party is now well-organised and united, Bablu urged the Jatiya Party leaders and activists to work for strengthening its organisational capacity further to return to power.
