Faculties, students, researchers, and conservationists of environmental and life science disciplines from Dhaka, Jahangirnagar, Jagannath and North South universities have joined WildTeam for a transformative 4-day training experience where they will gain invaluable skills and knowledge to fuel their research and conservation efforts.
They will unlock the power of data science, the sexiest job of the 21st Century.
During this immersive training, the trainees will delve into the world of data science using the popular programming language R. From data acquisition, including spatial data, to data cleaning, preparation for model fitting, analysis, visualization, and interpretation, they will learn a comprehensive suite of tools and processes essential for successful environmental research. Upon completion, they will possess the skills to independently tackle their own practical projects, applying the acquired knowledge with confidence and precision. Led by the Data Scientist, Dr Md. Anwar Hossain, from the University of Melbourne, Australia, also a WildTeam consultant, this programme is tailored specifically for individuals who are passionate about making a real impact on the environment.
The programme was inaugurated this morning by Mr Enayetullah Khan, founder, WildTeam.
In his speech he said, data science is one of the most important areas of knowledge, which is not only be used on land but also under water. Due to scarcity of data we fail to understand our own problems and make others understand how to face the challenges related to sustainability, climate change and resource management.
He wants the trainees take this intensive programme seriously and share their knowledge with others, and become change-makers in the society. WildTeam CEO, Dr Md. Anwarul Islam, and Cosmos Group DMD, Mr Masud Jamil Khan were also present at the event.
