Bongo BD has recently revealed its partnership with ESPL with a mission to nurture and develop esports in Bangladesh.

Bangladesh’s esports scene has recently received interest from many international brands in sponsoring tournaments. The partnership with ESPL would be the first for an international company to enter Bangladesh with serious plans for developing esports in the country, ESPL said in a press release.

Marking the first move of this collaboration, ESPL launched a grassroots focused tournament with Riot Games South Asia’s support titled ‘ESPL Valorant PowerUp Bangladesh Series’. The total cash prize pool for the ESPL Valorant Power Up Bangladesh series is US$13,500 (Tk 11,45,000), and every month it will begin with a new Power Up tournament with a prize pool of $2,250 (Tk 1,90,000) till May, separated between the Amateur Cup and Invitational Cup.

For each tournament, the top three teams who will win the Amateur Cup will be invited to the Invitational Cup to battle three invited teams. For December, it has selected three teams that have performed well in past tournaments. From next month onwards, the top three winning teams of the Invitational Cup will be the next invited teams. The battle will begin on December 28, 2020.

“South Asia has a huge population of young talented players with the aspiration of becoming esports champions. Game titles such as Valorant have been very active in developing a sustainable ecosystem for players to grow into world champions. This tournament will be an exciting opportunity for us to build a lasting foundation for our players and brands,” said Michael Broda, Co-Founder and CEO of ESPL.

Registration for the ESPL Valorant Power Up Bangladesh series started on December 7 which will end on December 20. Details can be found at ESPL Bangladesh tournaments website https://espl.gg/bangladesh and also at the Facebook page of ESPL Bangladesh.

Founded in early 2019, ESPL officially launched its online tournament platform in January 2020 with the mission of building a sustainable foundation for amateur esports players around the world to compete and grow into champions. This network has since grown to 12 countries from South America, South Asia, South East Asia, and Europe in a period of 12 months, being managed by its headquarters in Singapore and regional offices in Cologne and Los Angeles.
