Doctor Md Abdul Kuddus, the civil surgeon said that Ahad was diagnosed with coronavirus on June 8 and he was undergoing treatment at the hospital.
He had been suffering from diabetics and heart problem.
The former director breathed his last around 8:30pm.
Abdul Ahad was also president of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) of the district unit.
