The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police arrested 17 people on Monday in connection with question paper leaks from the Public Service Commission (PSC).
Among the arrestees are Syed Abed Ali, a former driver of the PSC chairman who has been the subject of widespread discussion on social media. Additional DIG of CID's Cyber Division, Touhidul Islam, confirmed the development.

Operations were conducted in various areas, including Dhaka, to make these arrests, he said.
According to CID sources, among those arrested are PSC's deputy directors Md. Abu Jafar and Md. Jahangir Alam, Assistant Director Md Alamgir Kabir, office assistant Khalilur Rahman, and office assistant (Dispatch) Sajedul Islam.
Additionally, former army personnel Noaman Siddique, former Dhaka University student Abu Solayman M Sohel, auditor Priyanath Roy, businessman Jahidul Islam, security guard at Narayanganj Passport Office Shahadat Hossain, Md. Mamunur Rashid, who worked at Dhaka's Immigration and Passport Office, medical technician Md Niamul Hasan at Shaheed Suhrawardy Hospital, Shakawat Hossain, Liton Sarkar, and son of Abed Ali, Sohanur Rahman Siam, were also arrested.
This incident of question paper leaks was revealed in an investigation by a private television channel on Sunday. Allegations of question paper leaks in 30 recruitment exams, including the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) exams, over the past 12 years have been raised against a syndicate.
According to the report, the syndicate involved in question paper leaks conducted the appointment exam for Assistant Engineer for Railways on July 5. Investigative journalists assumed undercover roles to gather information on question paper leaks and deceitful activities.
Since the report was published, Abed Ali has come under extensive discussion in various media.
