Wife of Feni district Juba Dal president on Wednesday filed a case accusing six people including four cops on account of harassing her husband in an armed case.
Lutfur Nahar, wife of the district Juba Dal’s President Jakir Hossain Jasim, lodged the case with the court of Feni Sadar Amoli Court-1 Senior Judicial Judge Muhammad Ashekur Raman.
The accused are Officer-in-charge of Feni Model Police Station Nizam Uddin, Sub Inspector (SI) Emran Hossai and Narayan Chandra Das, intelligence officer Habibur Rahaman, witnesses Sabbir Hossain and Saikat.
Accepting the allegation, the court asked the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to look into the case by an officer whose designation will not be below an inspector.
The court also asked the PBI to submit a progress report within the next 15 days and investigation report by one month, said Yusuf Alamgir, counsel of the plaintiff.
Mentionable, police in cooperation with Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested the Juba Dal leader from Bijoynagar area of the capital’s Paltan area on July 22.
Later, police recovered a pistol, four rounds of bullet and other arms from the house of the BNP leader from the Feni city’s Rampura area around 1.00am on that day.
Though police filed a case accusing Jakir in connection with the recovery of the arms, his family has been claiming of harassing him politically.
