A floating isolation unit has been opened at a passenger launch for coronavirus-infected patients at the River port here on Friday.
The district administration in collaboration with Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) opened the passenger launch, Surovi-8, for provding emergency services to Covid-19 patients.
The launch has 42 single seats, 34 double seats, four family seats and two semi VIP cabins. It will be handed over to the civil surgeon when they need it.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Prashanta Kumar Das, Nezarat Deputy Collector SM Robin, BIWTA Joint Director and River port Officer Ajmal Huda Mithu Sarkar were present on the occasion.
