The Ministry of Foreign Affairs paid homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's eldest son, freedom fighter Shaheed Sheikh Kamal, on the occasion of his 74th birth anniversary on Saturday.
Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, and Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen along with senior officials of the ministry placed wreaths at the portrait of Sheikh Kamal and his family members at Banani graveyard, according to a press release.

Also, after Zohr prayers at the Foreign Ministry Mosque, a Doa Mahfil to pray for eternal peace of Sheikh Kamal was held. Foreign minister attended the mahfil, it said.
"Freedom fighter Sheikh Kamal was a multi-dimensional talent. In his short life of just 26 years, he has given so much to this country,” said the minister.

“Sheikh Kamal had a very polite and kind personality. He had a strong interest in sports. He also had a great interest in cultural activities. He was directly involved in the sports and cultural activities of the university. He was very dear to everyone because of his beautiful manner. And he was always there to help others,” he said.
"It is sad that five of the self-confessed killers of August 15 are still absconding abroad. We are making all-out efforts to bring back the fugitive killers to implement the court's verdict,” the minister also said.

Prayers were offered seeking eternal peace for the departed souls of Bangabandhu and other martyrs of his family who laid down their lives on August 15, 1975, including Sheikh Kamal.
