French Ambassador to Bangladesh Jean-Marc Séré-Charlet on Tuesday underscored France’s commitment to strengthening international academic collaboration and encouraged students to consider France as a destination for higher education due to its rich academic environment, cultural diversity, and high-quality education at affordable costs.

He visited the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), accompanied by the Embassy’s Cultural Attaché, Baptiste Lebret, and representatives from Campus France Bangladesh.

During the visit, the Ambassador met with the university’s management team, engaged in interactive discussions with students, and toured the university’s scenic campus.

A key highlight of the visit was an informative session conducted by Syeda Naasiba Hossain, Country Head of the Campus France Bangladesh, focusing on higher education opportunities in France, said the French Embassy in Dhaka.

The team presented a comprehensive overview of the French education system, emphasizing its accessibility and global appeal.

They highlighted benefits such as affordable tuition fees, state-subsidized living costs, a wide range of academic programmes taught in English, the opportunity for international students to work part-time (up to 20 hours per week), and the availability of a one-year post-study work visa.

The Embassy said Ambassador’s visit to a leading private university reflects the strengthening educational ties between Bangladesh and France and reaffirms France’s support for Bangladeshi students in pursuing international-standard higher education abroad.
