The Council of Advisers in a meeting on Tuesday approved the draft of the ‘National Youth Entrepreneurship Development Policy 2025’, eyeing required support needs to be provided for the young entrepreneurs.
Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud talked about the policy at a media briefing at the Foreign Service Academy.
Law Adviser Dr Asif Nazrul and Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam were also present at the briefing to share the outcomes of the meeting.
The meeting was held at the Chief Adviser's Office (CAO) with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus in the chair.
Under the policy, Asif Mahmud said, a youth entrepreneur research and monitoring centre will be established to conduct research on the challenges and problems the entrepreneurs face across the country.

He said the Department of Youth Development will arrange annual entrepreneurs' fairs at district and upazila levels in coordination with the Youth and Sports Ministry.
The youth entrepreneurship development policy was approved aiming to empower youths as a key driver and change agent of social, economic and environmental progress through innovation and entrepreneurship development; and enhancing youth involvement in good governance and social development by encouraging and ensuring the participation of creative and enterprising youths in the decision-making process.
Under the policy, 'Youth Shops' will be set up to sell products made by young entrepreneurs while various local, regional, national and international fairs will be arranged and participation of young entrepreneurs will be ensured in these fairs.
