“We want ideas and guidelines from you (journalists) so that we can do more for the development of education sector. The government does not neglect the sector. We are concerned about it,” the minister said.
He was speaking at a seminar on policy Analysis and certificate awarding ceremony at Bangladesh Institute Governance and Management (BIGM) auditorium in the city.
“We have so many fields to work. We are also working in many sectors such as industries, education, and health .This is the time to work together for betterment of society,” he also said.
Mannan said that the most important matter is proper use of money in development projects and getting results from it.
Mannan said that there is both disparity and economic growth in the country. “We are not dumb or blind. We see everything. Inequality may rise at the first stage of development.”
“We have succeeded in many fields. We have been able to reduce poverty rate. We are spending huge money in rural areas for developing infrastructures and education. As a democratic country we work for all so that every citizen gets all the facilites,” the minister said.
A total of 35 officials from government and private sector took part in 10- week long training programme of Skills for Employment Investment Program (SEIP).
The 7th batch’s participants of Policy Analysis Training Course were trained about the country’s current problems and improvement initiatives.
Md Rakib Hossain, ndc, rector (secretary), Bangladesh Public Administration Training Center (BPATC), Farhina Ahmed, joint secretary of Finance Division under Finance Ministry were special guest while M Matiul Islam, chairperson of Board of Trustees, BIGM, presided over the function.
