A Dhaka court on Monday placed Haji Mohammad Salim, former lawmaker of Awami League (Dhaka-7) on a five-day remand in a murder case.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Akteruzzaman passed the order when sub-inspector of Lalbagh Police Station Akkas Mia produced him before the court with 10-day remand prayer.
Haji Salim was taken to the court around 3:30 pm.
He was also seen crying on the dock during the hearing.

Earlier in the day, detectives from Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested Salim from the Bangshal area of Dhaka in a case filed for killing a fist year student of Ideal College Khalid Hasan Saifullah during the quota reform movement on July 18.

Quamrul Hasan, father of Khalid, filed a case with Lalbagh Police Station against 52 people including Sheikh Hasina.
