Writ petitioner AKM Fayez said first the bench of Justice Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury and Justice Md Ashraful Kamal declined to hear the petition suggesting that he place elsewhere.
When he produced it before the bench of Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif and Justice Razik-Al-Jalil, they also expressed their inability to hear it, he said.
Later, the petitioner approached the bench of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader when they asked him to wait, saying the Prime Minister herself is looking into the matter, he said.
“The court said investigation is progressing properly and the HC won’t interfere in it at this stage. If necessary, an appropriate order will be delivered if there’s any deviation,” Fayez said.
On Sunday, Supreme Court lawyer Fayez on behalf of lawyer Shahin Babu filed the petition seeking Tk 10 crore compensation, judicial inquiry into the murder and directives to ensure safety of Abrar’s family.
Abrar Fahad, 21, a second-year student of electrical and electronic engineering department of Buet, was beaten to death allegedly by Bangladesh Chhatra League leaders at Sher-e-Bangla Hall.
He was found dead on the staircase of the dormitory in the early hours of October 7 after the BCL leaders beat him at room-2011.
A total of 20 people have so far arrested over the gruesome murder while five of the confessed to their involvement in the incident.
