Bangladesh Congress nominated candidate and content creator Ashraful Hossain, better known as Hero Alom, has announced withdrawal of his candidature from the Bogura-4 (Kahalu-Nandigram) constituency in the 12th parliamentary elections scheduled to be held on January 7.
"I have decided to step aside from the election race. I will withdraw my candidacy on December 17. But I'm not disclosing the reasons behind the decision right now. I'll tell you that day,” he said.
Hero Alom made the announcement of quitting from the election race on his verified Facebook page on Wednesday night.
However, the content creator could not be reached by phone despite several attempts.
On December 3, Bogura Returning Officer Md Saiful Islam rejected his nomination papers showing the cause of not filling it properly.
On December 6, he went to the Election Bhaban in Agargaon and appealed to get back the candidacy. He regained his candidacy at the hearing of that appeal.
