The Education Ministry on Sunday postponed the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations scheduled to begin on April 1 due to the coronavirus outbreak.
While talking to UNB, Mohammad Abul Khair, public relations officer of the Education Ministry, confirmed the decsion.
Admit card distribution activities for the HSC and its equivalent examinations have been postponed till March 28, said a handout of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka.
It also suggested all the examinees to stay at home during the coronavirus pandemic and take good preparations for the examinations.
On March 16, all the educational institutions of the country were shut until March 31, aiming to prevent the spread of deadly coronavirus.
Coaching centers will also remain closed during the period.
Bangladesh has so far confirmed 24 coronavirus cases and two deaths.
The deadly virus has so far killed more than 13,000 people across the world and infected over 300,000.
