The students were welcomed in Beijing at the programme’s opening ceremony on Tuesday at the Huawei courtyard in Beijing, China, said a press release.
Kazi M Aminul Islam, Executive Chairman of Board of Investment and Development Authority (BIDA) was the chief guest.
‘Seeds for the Future’ is a part of Southeast Asia Development Enablement Plan. Starting in 2008, Seeds for the Future has been implemented in 108 countries and international organization worldwide, benefiting over 30,000 students from 350 universities up until now.
Among them, more than 3,600 students have taken a study trip to the Huawei headquarters.
This year’s Seeds for the Future, Bangladesh round started on July 16 at Huawei’s Customer Solution Innovation and Integration Experience Centre (CSIC) in Dhaka with a press conference. Later on, selection rounds were held in five universities- DU, IUT, RUET, KUET and CUET. A total of 10 students were selected taking 2 from each university.
BIDA Executive Chairman Kazi M Aminul Islam said at the Beijing opening ceremony, “I want to remind that the relationship between China and Bangladesh has always been very friendly, in fact superbly investment friendly. Huawei is working in close collaboration with the government of Bangladesh for a long time since 1998. This long-lasting friendship has been very fruitful both for Huawei and Bangladesh.”
“I want to thank Huawei wholeheartedly for believing in the talent of Bangladeshi people. Bangladesh is a rapidly growing country which can definitely be called as a gold mine. Because, the “Vision 2021” taken by Bangladesh Government is being implemented in all possible ways which is facilitating huge number of projects and new opportunities for the young generation. Md. Mahfuzul Alam Khan, Commercial Counsellor of Bangladesh Embassy in Beijing said, “I want to congratulate the students from the core of my heart for their success. You have made us proud.”
