The International Crimes Tribunal-2 on Monday issued warrants for the arrest of Awami League (AL) joint general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif and three others, for alleged crimes against humanity during the July Uprising in Kushtia.
The three-member tribunal, headed by its Chairman Justice Md Nazrul Islam Chowdhury took the case into cognizance and passed the order.
The tribunal also asked the authorities concerned to produce them before court on October 14 after arrest.
The three other accused were—Sadar Uddin Khan, President of Kushtia district unit Awami League, Secretary Azgar Ali and general secretary of Kushtia town unit Awami League Ataur Rahman Khan.
Earlier on Sunday, the prosecution submitted chargesheet against the four accused on charge of killing six people in Kushtia during July uprising.
On August 5, 2024, six people were killed during the July Uprising in different parts of Kushtia district.
The deceased were identified as Ashraful Islam, Suruj Ali Babu, Abdullah Al Muttakin, Md Usama, Bablu Farazi and Yusuf Sheikh Shaheed Khan.
