Inspector General of Police Benazir Ahmed has called upon the rich to stand by the helpless people as Covid-19 is wreaking havoc across the country.
"We are currently in the midst of a difficult reality. For this, everyone must be united. Everyone has to come forward from their position, “ he said while addressing a function to distribute food and cash among helpless and distressed people by the Bangladesh Shop Owners Association at Siddheswari High School ground on Thursday.
The IGP said that the Prime Minister is working tirelessly to ensure that both the life and the livelihood of the people remain normal in these challenging times. He said that in this case, besides the initiatives of the government, the rich people of the society should also stand by the helpless.

Calling on everyone to be aware of the ongoing epidemic, the IGP said no one should go out of the house unless there is an urgent need.
DMP Commissioner Mohammad Shafiqul Islam and FBCCI President Jasim Uddin were the special guests at the function presided over by Bangladesh Shop Owners Association President Mohammad Helal Uddin.
DMP Commissioner Mohammad Shafiqul Islam said, “You have to save yourself, no one will save you. You have to protect yourself, you have to protect your family. For this you have to wear a mask and follow the hygiene rules. Then we can live.”
FBCCI President Jasim Uddin said, "We will all be better if everyone tries unitedly in tackling Covid-19."

He thanked the shop owners' association for helping impoverished people during the lockdown.
President of Bangladesh Shop Owners Association Md. Helal Uddin said, “The world is now in danger. Bangladesh is no exception. In this war, everyone has to deal with the situation with patience.”
The shop owners' association has distributed cooked food, cash, masks and soap among one thousand helpless and distressed people during the event.
