Three people including an imam were killed in a fierce clash between two neighbours over a disputed land in Cox’s Bazar’s Ukhiya upazila on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Abdullah Al Mamun, his rivals Abdul Mannan and Shahina Begum, hailing from Paschimpara of Kutupalong union under the upazila.
Of them, Mamun was the imam of Kutupalong Jame Mosque while Mannan and Shahina were siblings.
Mohammad Ali, general secretary of Kutupalong Bazar Committee, said there had long been a dispute between two families over a boundary wall in the house.

They attacked each other with locally-made sharp weapons over the matter in the morning, leaving three people dead on the spot, he said.
Arif Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Ukhiya police station, said the bodies were sent to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy after recovering from the house.
Legal action will be taken in this regard, he added.
