An inter-department football tournament began at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Sunday amid festive mood and much enthusiasm.
IU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AKM Motinur Rahman inaugurated the tournament as the chief guest at the university's central football ground around 11:30am.
All 36 departments of the university are taking part in the tournament, said Mostafizur Rahman, director of the IU Physical Education Cell.
IU Pro-VC Prof Dr Amtaj Hossain, acting Registrar Prof Dr Atiqur Rahman, Proctor Prof Dr Shahinuzzaman and teachers from different departments were present on the occasion.
