President of International Inner Wheel Kay Morland on Tuesday paid a courtesy call on President Mohammed Shahabuddin at Bangabhaban on Tuesday afternoon.
During the meeting, Inner Wheel District 345 Chairman Mushayla Karim, former Board Director Dilruba Ahmed, Webmaster Sharmin Hossain and Vice Chairman Shirin Akter were also present, President's press secretary Sarwar Alam told UNB.
The delegation briefed the President on the organisation’s various activities aimed at improving education, healthcare, protection, rights and overall quality of life of underprivileged and disadvantaged women and children.
President Shahabuddin appreciated the social and humanitarian initiatives undertaken by members of International Inner Wheel both at home and abroad.
He expressed hope that the organisation would further expand its service-oriented activities in the future, particularly in the areas of social development, environmental protection, and the welfare of women and children.
The members of the delegation expressed their gratitude to the President for his valuable guidance and encouraging remarks and reaffirmed their commitment to playing a more active role in social welfare activities in the days ahead.
