Bangladesh Embassy in Tokyo organised a discussion meeting at the Embassy to celebrate International Migrants Day and National Expatriates’ Day 2024.
Ambassador of Bangladesh to Japan Md. Daud Ali said the population of the country has become a resources today due to the proper actions and management of the government promoting safe, orderly and regular migration.
He said a large number of Bangladeshis are working with reputation in more than 170 countries of the world and acknowledged the important contribution of the remittance fighters to the economy of Bangladesh.
The Ambassador urged the participants to bring more skilled workers from Bangladesh and to send remittances through legal channels.
Representatives of remittance houses, technical interns working in Japan, specified skilled workers, students from languag school and Embassy officials participated in the event.
Later the messages given by the President, Chief Advisor, Foreign Adviser and Adviser of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Affairs Ministry were read out.
First Secretary (Labor) Md. Joynal Abedin gave a power point presentation highlighting the importance and significance of overseas employment and sending remittances through legal channels.
Several expatriate Bangladeshis were honored at the program for their outstanding performence in their own profession in Japan.
Later a captivating cultural programme was organised with the participation of expatriate Bangladeshis.
