The Islami Andolan Bangladesh (IAB) on Thursday staged demonstrations across the country in protest against the announcement of polls schedule for the 12th national elections.
Calling the schedule as one-sided, the party demonstrated in districts and cities across the country simultaneously.

However, their processions faced obstructions in some districts.
The party leaders said the people of the country have rejected the schedule with disgust and they threatened to resist it.

They urged the authorities concerned to accept the demand of a 'national government' to run the country during the election. They demanded the Election Commission cancel the polls schedule.
Amir of IAB Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim thanked the party men for holding processions.

The districts where the peaceful processions held include Narayanganj, Kishoreganj, Gazipur, Gopalganj, Narsingdi, Tangail, Faridpur, Madaripur, Munshiganj, Manikganj, Shariatpur, Rajbari, Netrokona, Sherpur, Jamalpur, Mymensingh and Rajshahi.
