Islamic University, Dec 12 (UNB) – The authorities of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Wednesday suspended one of its officials over assaulting a teacher of the university.
The suspended official was identified as Manjar-E-Alam alias Miru, deputy registrar of the university.
IU acting registrar SM Abdul Latif told UNB that the university Vice-Chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari issued the suspension order against Manjar-E-Alam as he assaulted Emtaz Hossain, Professor of Islamic History and Culture department over previous enmity.
A case was filed with IU Police Station in this regard, said Ratun Sheikh, officer-in-charge of the Police Station.
Earlier in the afternoon, Manjar-E-Alam along with his three accomplices attacked Emtaz Hossain at Teacher Dormitory-1 leaving him injured.
