Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Bangladesh Listyowati has said she looks forward to having cooperation with Bangladesh as has been Indonesia elected to the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguard of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICSICH) for the period of 2026-2030.
The Ambassador met Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury on July 29 and discussed the issues of mutual interest.
State Minister for Cultural Affairs Ali Newaz Mahmood Khyom, MP, and senior officials of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs of Bangladesh were also present in the meeting.
The meeting discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of culture that also important part of culture diplomacy, and at the same time to increase people-to-people contact as the vital base for expanding bilateral relations, said the Indonesian Embassy in Dhaka on Thursday.
During the meeting, both sides had exchange of views on opportunities to conduct several programs of activities or collaboration in the field of performing arts, visual arts, cultural heritage, museums, literature, handicraft, and economic creative.
This is becoming more importance in the momentum of commemoration of the 55th diplomatic relations of Indonesia and Bangladesh in the year 2027, said the Embassy.
