They also said the two countries always maintained a strong relationship through mutual cooperation, respect and partnership for development in the fields of economic development, trade and commerce.
Embassy of Japan and DU East Asia study centre jointly organised the seminar titled 'Japanese Maritime policy and Free and Open Indo-Pacific Strategy' held at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury senate bhaban of DU.
Japan Embassy charge d'affaires Takeshi Ito said, Both Bangladesh and Japan believe in international law, rule of law and practise of law. Japan government policy is not to interfere in others’ affaiurs. Our maritime policy also reflects this rule."
"Under the open Indo-pacific strategy Japan wants to ensure the security of its Maritime areas, not to interere others. Bangladesh can also take help from Japan to develop and proper use of its maritime resources," he added.
Prof Sadeka halim, dean of DU social science faculty, prof Atsuko Kanehara, Sophia University, Tokyo, Japan, Prof Imtiaz Ahmed, and international relations department student of DU among others addressed the program.
